Sus antecedentes:
- Las relaciones evolutivas de los primates, particularmente para los monos del Nuevo Mundo (platirrinos), son poco conocidas debido a la limitada evidencia fósil.
- Los análisis filogenéticos existentes ofrecen un marco para comprender las relaciones entre los primates antropoides.
Objetivo del estudio:
- Para informar sobre el descubrimiento de un cráneo de platirrina fósil significativo de los Andes chilenos.
