- 治療された逆流性食道炎の12人の患者で,pH/インペダンスモニタリングとバイオプシーによる食道検査を実施した.
- ビオプシは,発症時点 (PPI) と,PPIを中止してから1~2週間後に採取された.

- 重度の反流性食道炎を誘発したTリンパ球が優位な炎症および侵食のない高血症の患者でPPIを中止する.
- 研究結果は,GERDの病原性には直接的な化学的傷害ではなく,サイトカイン媒介の経路が含まれる可能性があることを示唆している.
