カウンセリングを受けた73人の喫煙者のうち49.01%が禁煙に成功した.
バレニクリンは26人の患者に提供されたが,処方されたのは7人,治療を終えたのは1/3人であった.

結論:

口頭でのカウンセリングはTED患者にとって効果的な禁煙の第一歩です
ヴァレニクリンは,患者の服従と動機づけが悪いため,有効性が限られていることが示された.
TED患者の薬剤療法への従順性を改善するためのさらなる研究が必要である.
