Abstract:
Oncofetal reprogramming, characterized by the re-expression of fetal-specific genes and proteins in cancer, signifies a key shift in tumor biology that encompasses both malignant cells and their microenvironment, forming the oncofetal ecosystem. In this commentary, we highlight recent advances in understanding oncofetal reprogramming and explore its emerging potential as a biomarker and therapeutic target in cancer research.
