Abstract:
Lung cancer is the most prevalent and fatal disease worldwide. In the case of advanced patients, tumors are prone to develop drug resistance during treatment, resulting in poor prognosis. Pyroptosis is executed by the gasdermin family, with molecular mechanisms encompassing the classical, non-classical, and alternative pathways. New evidence indicates that genes related to cell proliferation in the clinical research and treatment of lung cancer can help in the early detection and prediction of metastasis. Additionally, some physical and targeted strategies can regulate pyroptosis to inhibit cancer, and appropriate molecules can be used to assess prognosis. Inducing pyroptosis may become new directions for overcoming drug resistance. This article aims to summarize the characteristics of lung cancer development, metastasis and cell death prediction, providing an important basis for developing novel treatment strategies to treat lung cancer through activating pyroptosis.
