Highlights from a socioeconomic survey of radiologic technologists in North Carolina

A survey of radiologic technologists in North Carolina shows that, in general, technologists fare better economically when working in hospitals than in radiologists' offices. It is not surprising to note that salaries increase with an increase in job responsibilities and for those who participate in continuing education. At the time of the survey in early 1975, only 35 per cent of those responding were involved in some form of continuing education program. Further studies are needed to better define some of the implications noted in the survey.
