General management in the NHS: comparisons and contrasts between Scotland and England
1Nuffield Institute for Health Services Studies, University of Leeds.
Abstract:
The NHS takes rather different forms in England and Scotland, and comparisons can be instructive. David Hunter and Peter Williamson look at the way general management was evolved in the two countries. If so far it has not flourished in Scotland that may be because it was the adoption of arrangements designed for England, but it may also reflect differences between the two countries.
