Opportunities in Medicare for federally qualified health centers

Competition for Medicaid managed care recipients has cut into the resources traditionally available to safety net providers. At the same time, a lack of primary care providers in many rural areas has increased the demand for federally funded community health centers to serve senior citizens. To meet the needs of the communities they serve and to maintain revenue streams, community health centers are increasingly serving the Medicare population.
