Porphyria precipitated by hydroxychloroquine treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus

This case report emphasizes the fact that patients presenting with photosensitivity could have lupus erythematosus or porphyria or both; and since the therapy for one may aggravate the other, extreme caution is indicated.
