Summary

Genetic variations in Cytotoxic T-lymphocyte antigen 4 (CTLA4) were studied in rheumatoid arthritis patients. The CTLA4 49 A/G polymorphism showed increased heterozygosity in female patients and those with HLA-DR3, suggesting a role in rheumatoid arthritis pathogenesis.
