Strategy is a key to implementing a comprehensive education program
Abstract:
In a time when the health care delivery system will be expected to do more with less, institutional administrations must pursue courses of action that will economize resources, but not compromise the quality of health care. Such is the case with patient education. The importance of educating patients must not be diluted, nor should the roles of providers be compromised in an attempt to be frugal. Approaches exist that can be productive if, on an organizational basis, institutional support is provided; audiences are targeted; programs are developed with appropriate involvement; and proper delivery systems are implemented.
