Abstract:
It has been predicted that by the year 2000, there will be 25 health care conglomerates dominating the health care field. This prediction is based upon today's trends in the marketplace. The current rush to establish affiliations and cooperatives is a foreshadowing of the future. In the face of such revolutionary change, it is imperative to keep in mind that health care is best delivered on a local level. The author examines one such system, the American Healthcare Systems, located in Los Angeles, California, and how they intend to be pioneers of the future.
