Summary:
This regulation places in HCFA's part of the Code of Federal Regulations certain material formerly included in the regulations of the Social Security Administration (SSA). Specifically, SSA's regulations about making and reviewing program determinations referred to certain types of determinations made in the Medicare program. However, in its recent recodification of those regulations, SSA deleted the references to Medicare determinations. The following amendments place the deleted material among the HCFA regulations on making and reviewing program determinations. In addition, for the convenience of the reader of HCFA regulations, we are reprinting the SSA's regulations on making and reviewing program determinations as an Appendix to the Medicare regulations on the same subject.
