Medicare and Medicaid programs; collection of overdue Medicare Part B premiums--HCFA. Notice

This notice sets forth our policy on collection of Medicare Part B premiums from States with "buy-in" agreements. It describes the assessment of interest on overdue premiums and the offset against Federal financial participation (FFP) if we do not receive payment by the specified date. The intent of this policy is to encourage timely payment of Part B premiums by States.
