Clothing for patients: personally theirs

The health professions agree that people spending months or years in institutions should have their own choice of clothing, including personalised underwear. Unfortunately, although the principle is universally accepted, the practice of personalising clothing for geriatric, handicapped and psychiatric patients is still in its infancy in many parts of Britain, as Pauline Drummond discovered.
