Abstract:
About one-third of retired and active employees surveyed by Equicor/Louis Harris said they would have to pay for long-term care themselves--twice as many as thought Medicare would pay. But most of the consumers polled thought little about long-term care and its costs, and a large percentage of benefits officers interviewed were "bury[ing] their heads in the sand instead of... taking steps to manage" retiree health costs.
