Summary

Heavy metals cadmium (Cd2+), nickel (Ni2+), and cobalt (Co2+) ions negatively impact mouse embryo development during the peri-implantation stage. Even low Cd2+ levels, comparable to those in humans, significantly harmed trophoblast development.
