Abstract:
Adolescents are susceptible to both chickenpox and shingles, and they become more ill and more likely to be hospitalized than younger patients infected with varicella. Issues such as diagnosis, therapy, infection control, and prevention are reviewed as they relate to both varicella and zoster.
