Corneal laceration and forehead erythema: a syndrome in infants

Purpose:
To illustrate a syndrome of transient erythema in the first division of the fifth cranial nerve caused by minor corneal laceration, occurring in infants.
Methods:
Case reports are presented, together with photographs. These must, of necessity, usually be obtained by the general practitioner because of the short duration of the signs.
Results/Conclusions:
Opinion is sought as to whether other practitioners have recognized this association and whether it has been described elsewhere.
