Abstract:
Institutionalized persons with dementia present many challenges to pastoral caregivers. The loss of memory and cognitive functions in these persons requires that caregivers value the immediate moment of pastoral contact and ground their ministry in relevant theological foundations. Examples of these challenges are provided and theological concepts are discussed.
