Summary

Antibiotics offer minimal benefit for acute bronchitis, reducing cough and sputum duration by about half a day. Given risks and antibiotic resistance, their use is not recommended for otherwise healthy patients.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the effectiveness of antibiotics in treating acute bronchitis through a meta-analysis.
