Musculoskeletal ultrasound. The clinician's perspective
1North Suburban Rehabilitation Unit, Colorado Rehabilitation and Occupational Medicine, Aurora, USA.
Abstract:
Health care has changed dramatically over the last decade. Clinicians constantly are faced with decisions regarding the most cost-effective treatment while they maintain high-quality care. Musculoskeletal injuries commonly are seen in the practitioner's office, and thus it is important to find an effective imaging modality to aid in diagnosis and treatment. Ultrasound is an excellent imaging modality because it is fast, noninvasive, and does not have inherent side effects. This article conceptualizes the use of diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound for the clinician treating changes in their patients' function secondary to musculoskeletal injuries.

Ultrasound I: Abdominal Ultrasonography
Abdominal ultrasonography, commonly known as abdominal ultrasound, is a vital, non-invasive medical imaging technique widely used in healthcare.
Procedure:
This diagnostic tool allows the clinician to visually inspect internal structures within the abdomen, including vital organs such as the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, kidneys, and spleen.
The abdominal ultrasound process begins with applying a special gel to the patient's skin over the abdomen. This gel enhances the...
