Abstract:
The current role of the interventional neuroradiologist in the treatment of brain tumors is limited to preoperative devascularization of vascular tumors and, occasionally, palliative therapy of metastatic or inoperable disease. Research protocols are in progress examining the role of intraarterial chemotherapy with disruption of the blood-brain barrier and may harbinger an expanded role for endovascular therapy in this group of patients.
