Area of Science:

  • Plastic Surgery
  • Aesthetic Medicine
  • Body Contouring

Background:

  • Ultrasound-assisted liposuction (UAL) is an evolving technique for fat removal.
  • The ideal of non-surgical fat dissolution via UAL has not been fully realized.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the current status and future potential of UAL in aesthetic procedures.
  • To identify areas for improvement in UAL technology and application.

Main Methods:

  • Review of UAL technology and clinical applications.
  • Analysis of UAL effectiveness in specific scenarios like fibrous tissue and revision liposuction.

Main Results:

  • UAL has not yet delivered on the promise of "fat dissolution without surgery."

Related Experiment Videos

  • UAL may be valuable in specific cases, such as extremely fibrous areas and secondary liposuction procedures.
  • Current UAL equipment requires further refinement.
  • Conclusions:

    • UAL shows potential for specialized applications in liposuction.
    • Continued evolution of UAL technology is expected to enhance safety, reduce incision size, and improve procedural efficiency.
