  • Ophthalmic examination revealed mild retinal whitening and segmented filling of the cilioretinal artery.

Findings:

  • The patient was diagnosed with cilioretinal artery occlusion.
  • Immediate paracentesis was performed as an intervention.
  • Two weeks post-intervention, visual acuity improved to 6/6 with a minimal residual central scotoma.

Implications:

  • This case highlights that cardiac catheterization can precipitate retinal infarction.
