    Background:

    • Massive stars, like luminous blue variables (LBVs), are crucial for understanding galactic evolution.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To classify the nature of the bright star FMM 362 in the Quintuplet Cluster.
    • To compare FMM 362 with other known massive stars, such as the Pistol Star.

    Main Methods:

    • Acquisition of moderate-resolution H- and K-band spectra.
    • Obtained 4 µm high-resolution spectra.
    • Analyzed spectral features and compared them with known stellar spectra.
    • Utilized previously obtained photometric data.

    Main Results:

    • Spectral features of FMM 362 closely resemble those of the Pistol Star.
    • FMM 362 exhibits high luminosity (L>/=10^6 L☉) and a temperature of 10,000-13,000 K.
    • Photometric variability was observed for FMM 362.

    Conclusions:

    • FMM 362 is classified as a luminous blue variable (LBV).
    • Its properties align with those of extremely luminous and evolved massive stars.
