Complications in treatment of a mandibular defect with a Silastic implant

Failure of a previously published Silastic implant technique in the treatment of facial asymmetry has been reported. It is a clinician's obligation to report failures as well as successes in the treatment of the oral surgical patient so that other practitioners are not misguided.
