Improving pneumococcal vaccination rates for elderly patients.

Summary

Background:

Pneumococcal vaccination rates in elderly populations often fall short of public health targets.
The Healthy People 2000 initiative aimed for 60%-80% vaccination coverage, a goal not met by New Jersey's elderly population (32% last year).

Purpose of the Study:

To evaluate the effectiveness of intervention strategies in increasing pneumococcal vaccination rates among an elderly clinic population.
