Abstract
Objective:
The purpose of this editorial is to give a critical view of recommendations recently published on hypertension.
Analysis:
Present changes in therapeutic aspects involving both pharmacological and non pharmacological treatment are analyzed together with the development of new compounds.
Conclusion:
It is suggested that the organization of care, more than the discovery of new compounds is the critical point for improvement of cardiovascular risk in hypertension.
