Background:

Purpose of the Study:

  • To compare the effectiveness of horizontal pins and dental adhesive in reinforcing facial cusps of endodontically treated mandibular molars.
  • To evaluate the fracture resistance and failure modes of different reinforcement techniques.

Main Methods:

  • Seventy-two mandibular molars were divided into six groups, including intact teeth and various reinforcement methods (dentin adhesive, horizontal pins, or a combination).
  • Teeth were subjected to compressive loading to determine fracture strength using an Instron Universal Testing Machine.
