Summary

Neonatal sepsis increases reactive oxygen species (ROS), indicated by elevated xanthine oxidase (XO), superoxide dismutase (SOD), and glutathione peroxidase (GPx). Despite increased antioxidant enzymes, cellular damage and malondialdehyde (MDA) levels rise, suggesting potential benefits of antioxidant therapy.
