Kawasaki disease. Kawasaki disease?

Four cases of Kawasaki Disease (KD) treated at Bartlett Regional Hospital, Juneau, AK, are reviewed and discussed. Diagnostic and therapeutic measures recommended by the American Heart Association were followed and these cases discussed. Another case of probable Kawasaki Disease occurring in Anchorage, Alaska Native Medical Center, in 1965, is presented and compared with the other four. Current management of KD, with intravenous gamma globulin (IVGG) and aspirin (ASA) is highly effective, but was not known or available in 1965.
