  • To evaluate the utility of a brief self-efficacy scale for assessing a clinical training program.
  • To examine relationships between self-efficacy, skill mastery, training participation, and practice changes.

  • 119 registered dietitians participated in a diabetes training program.
  • Self-efficacy ratings were collected pre- and post-training.
  • Correlations were analyzed between self-efficacy, prior experience, knowledge, and self-reported practice changes.

Main Results:

  • Post-training self-efficacy correlated with prior relevant experience and knowledge post-test scores.
  • Significant increases in self-efficacy were observed for all 12 program objectives.
