Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the effectiveness of warmed, humidified inspired oxygen (O(2)) in treating mild hypothermia in postoperative patients.
  • To compare rewarming rates and incidence of dry mouth and shivering between standard and treated oxygen groups.

Main Methods:

  • Prospective, randomized, unblinded clinical trial involving 30 patients.
  • Patients received either routine O(2) or warmed (42°C) humidified O(2) for 90 minutes postoperatively.
