Cascading epicanthal skin resection and aesthetic reconstruction

Background:
Drooping, cascading epicanthal skin is a common phenomenon in the elderly, but its surgical removal and reconstruction has not been documented.
Objective:
A surgical technique is described to quickly and efficiently remove excessively drooping epicanthal tissue and to reconstruct an aesthetically pleasing lateral nose to epicanthal area.
Method:
Photographs of a woman with severe involvement are utilized to portray the surgical methodology.
Results:
Reconstruction of an acceptable lateral nose to epicanthal concavity was easily and safely accomplished.
Conclusion:
Excessive lateral nose and epicanthal skin can be removed and the area reconstructed by the described technique using local anesthesia in a simple operation.
