Myxomatous granulation as a feature of a subcutaneous pseudotumor

This paper presents myxomatous granulation in the sacral area as a feature of a pseudotumor. The patient was an 86-year-old male with a pseudotumor in the sacral area that may possibly have been the result of prolonged bed confinement. The initial diagnosis was lipoma. Specimen examination disclosed granulation tissue with inflammatory mixed cellular infiltrates undergoing myxomatous change. Plasma cell infiltrates were frequently present.
