Nonlinear behavior of localized space-charge waves in space-charge dominated electron beams

We observed abnormal growth in nonlinear space-charge waves within electron beams. Unexpectedly, the energy width of fast waves increased in the nonlinear regime, a phenomenon not yet explained by theory.
