Summary

Common orofacial viral infections in immunocompromised patients include herpes simplex virus (HSV) and varicella-zoster virus (VZV). Research is ongoing to understand the roles of various viruses, including human herpes viruses (HHVs) and human papilloma viruses (HPVs), in oral lesions and neoplasias.
