Summary

Systemic administration of nitroglycerin, a nitric oxide donor, can trigger delayed migraine attacks. This study found that nitroglycerin increases nitric oxide synthase (NOS) and c-fos in rat trigeminal neurons, suggesting a role in migraine mechanisms.
