Background:

  • Human dermal fibroblasts (HDF) are known to activate and secrete cytokines when co-cultured with T cells.
  • The specific lymphocyte populations responsible for potent HDF activation remained largely unidentified.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To identify potent activators of human dermal fibroblasts (HDF) within human peripheral CD2(+) lymphocytes.
  • To elucidate the role of specific lymphocyte subsets in initiating inflammatory responses in skin.

  • Co-culture experiments involving HDF and isolated human peripheral CD2(+) lymphocytes.
  • Flow cytometry to identify cell surface markers (CD3, CD4, CD8, CD56).
