Practical approaches to clinical supervision

Clinical supervision is difficult to establish on a large scale in general nurse settings. Mandatory supervision schemes promote resistance, particularly if introduced without extra nursing cover. Reflective practice and staff support are the key goals for the profession. Organisations need to experiment with more varied ways of achieving these goals.
