[Results of caries risk monitoring from sociodemographic aspects]

Since 1993 a more intensive prophylactic maintenance in the kindergarten was erected on the background of the section 21 SGB V for the city of Düsseldorf. 1997 the same was conducted for the primary schools and schools with pupils, who are retarded in their development. The selection of the primary schools was based on the evaluation of the median line. We found that treatment need of the permanent teeth existed for every third child in 10% of the schools. The number of the schools which participated in the fluoridation increased from 7 to 11 primary schools. Within three years the DMF-T for the 10 years old children in the primary schools about 37% and 16% for the special schools decreased.
