Summary

Systemic sclerosis (SSc) patients, particularly diffuse scleroderma cases, exhibit increased endothelin-1 (ET-1) production by skin keratinocytes. This heightened ET-1 productivity correlates significantly with the severity of skin hyperpigmentation in SSc.
