Summary
Gadolinium ethoxybenzyl diethylenetriamine pentaacetic acid (Gd-EOB-DTPA) is taken up by normal liver cells but not liver cancer cells, limiting its use as a gene therapy vector. Further improvements are needed for effective gene transfer in hepatocellular carcinoma.
