Knee osteoarthritis (OA) can develop after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury. Early changes in the medial meniscus include matrix deterioration and altered cell distribution following ACL transection.

- These findings highlight the medial meniscus's vulnerability in the early stages of post-traumatic OA.
