Summary

Tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs) do not promote weight gain, and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) do not disproportionately cause weight loss in older adults. Weight changes observed were not clinically significant, challenging common prescribing beliefs.
