Area of Science:

  • Plastic Surgery
  • Craniofacial Surgery
  • Aesthetic Surgery

Background:

  • Facial augmentation is a key component of aesthetic and reconstructive surgery.
  • Orthognathic procedures correct skeletal discrepancies, but may require soft tissue augmentation for optimal results.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the role and outcomes of facial augmentation techniques.
  • To assess the efficacy of alloplastic augmentation in facial contouring.

Main Methods:

  • Review of previously presented facial augmentation techniques.
  • Analysis of their application in conjunction with orthognathic procedures or as standalone interventions.
  • Evaluation of alloplastic materials for facial augmentation.

Main Results:

Related Experiment Videos

  • Facial augmentation techniques can be integrated with orthognathic surgery or performed independently.
  • Properly executed augmentation enhances facial aesthetics and patient satisfaction.
  • Alloplastic augmentation offers predictable and stable outcomes with good patient acceptance.

Conclusions:

  • Facial augmentation is a versatile tool for improving facial form and patient experience.
  • Alloplastic materials provide reliable results for facial contouring when meticulously planned and executed.
