Summary

Late orbital hematoma, a rare complication after blepharoplasty, can cause vision loss. This case highlights that orbital hematoma can occur days after surgery and be managed conservatively.

Observation:

  • A healthy woman developed sudden vision loss 7 days post-blepharoplasty.
  • Imaging revealed a hematoma originating from the superior nasal fat pad.

Findings:

  • The orbital hematoma compressed the globe and accumulated in the intraconal space.
  • Conservative management was successful in this case.

Implications:

  • Orbital hematoma can present as a late complication of blepharoplasty.
  • Prompt diagnosis and management are crucial for preserving vision.
