To investigate patient perceptions of fixed implant-supported prostheses (ISP) in totally edentulous jaws.
To gather data for improved patient information and counseling regarding ISP.

A questionnaire was administered to 135 patients rehabilitated with ISP.
Patients reported on oral functions, speech, self-care, esthetics, lifestyle, self-confidence, comfort, and satisfaction.

Overall satisfaction with ISP was high (97%), with near-universal positive ratings for chewing ability (99.3%).
Significant improvements in lifestyle (75%) and self-confidence (82%) were reported, particularly in social eating and conversation.
While 87.2% found cleaning easy, 32.8% experienced initial phonetic problems, with 18.6% having persistent issues after 7-10 years. Bruxism/clenching was noted in 19.6% of younger patients.

Conclusions:

Patient experiences over 10 years provide valuable insights into the long-term benefits and drawbacks of ISP.
This data can enhance patient information, aiding informed choices for future fixed implant-supported prosthesis recipients.
A patient-targeted booklet is suggested for disseminating this crucial information.
