Hyperammonemia due to a urea cycle enzyme deficiency in two dogs

Hyperammonemia in 2 dogs was associated with a deficiency of arginosuccinate synthetase, one of the enzymes of the urea cycle. The usual criteria for evaluation of hepatic function were normal.
